What is Mental Health? A brief introduction to a basic description. Now includes full subtitles created from a script.
What is Mental Illness
Put simply, it s a malfunction in the brain, caused by either a hormonal imbalance or a physical trauma. This affects how the brain cells react together.
On the outside, to other people, nothing may seem unusual, but how the person thinks may be different. This can be ranging from speech to how they see the world or think.
Autism, which is what I have, is a form of mental illness. I like to describe autism as the difference between a PC and a MAC, one being neurotypical the other being an autistic person. They both do the same tasks; they just deal with them differently.
Severely mentally disabled people may need a lot of support. Others may just need some assistance with communication and relating to other people.
Mental illness has been recognised as far back as ancient Greece. It was not until the 18th century that mental illness began to be formally diagnosed. In 1883, the first listing of mental illness conditions was written, by Dr Emil Kr pelin, a psychiatrist.
Slowly, since then, mental illness has been more understood, although to get here today, we have had to undergo all sorts of barbarism, including drilling holes in the head and chaining up.
Since 2010 in the UK, Mental Disability has been formally recognised and protected by law, under the Equality Act 2010. Although this was a good start, it is poorly implemented with very little enforcement, unless you are either a trained solicitor or can afford one to support you.
Whilst agencies do exist, such as the Equality Advisory Support Service, they have very limited advisory only powers. Charities like MIND do offer some services to support people that have issues with day-to-day life, but due to Covid, their funds are extremely restricted.
Mental health has been highlighted since Covid and thankfully, more people are aware how easy it can be to suffer temporary mental health issues. Some of us are not that fortunate, and have a permanent long-term issue, which we must work around. Medications are available, which assist with coping, but at present, there is no magic bullet to cure mental illness permanently.
I strongly suggest that, if you can afford to, donate to your local mental health charity. In the UK the main one is MIND. I have put some links in the description for organisations both in America and Europe. I have also included the World Health Organisation mental health page.

What Is Religion?
An introduction to religion. The first in a new series on this channel.
Hello and thank you for coming to the first in a new series on this channel called Religion. It is going to be about all types of religion and beliefs. From every viewpoint, as far as I can do. Of course, being an atheist myself. It’s not going to be easy to be from the religious side of things, but I will do my best.
What is religion? The most common. Description of religion is the belief in a supernatural deity. With no evidence for its existence. And that is the crux. No evidence. There may be lots of stories written. And I don’t mean to be disrespectful to religions, but unless you’ve got evidence to support your stories. They are just stories. You need third party evidence. Outside of, for example, the Bible, so don’t use the Bible to quote the Bible or to support the Bible, you need another evidence. So for example, we don’t believe in the news. We know what’s going on. Because several news broadcasters are telling us more or less the same story.
So. We have multiple sources of evidence that the news exists. But God only has its own stories. You can’t use for example Islam to support the claim of a God of the Bible, because there’s no evidence for the claim of the God in his lamb. So that’s what I mean by evidence. It needs to be corroborated. Substantial. And repeatable. Okay, the news isn’t exactly repeatable cause it’s a time thing, but you can demonstrate that it’s existed because you’ve got multiple sources of evidence, not just written. You’ve got video evidence. You’ve got oral evidence. Lots of evidence. We’ve even got damaged buildings when it’s like wars and things like that. And the most reasonable explanation for what we see on the news. Is what the news tell us. Unless someone wants to come up with evidence of a supernatural being.
The other thing about religion is, especially under the Abrahamic tradition, God has a plan. God is all knowing, all seeing. Maximum powerful. Yet people pray to God. Even though that the praise a part of the planning theory and so. The praise will be ignored unless it’s part of the plan. So praying is pointless. And good. Made you pray to him because it was part of his plan, knowing that he would be ignoring it anyway. There’s so many paradoxes in religions. Islam, the Holy Prophet. Had sex with a 9 year old girl. And robbed caravans to support the terror attacks. And taking over Mecca. So hardly the sort of person you want to look up to. The Christian Bible supports slavery and rape. Oh, and genocide mustn’t forget the genocide. Catholics for a while believed in a man made purgatory, which is where babies went when they were christened. If they died before they were christened. And then the Pope back in the 1990s decided oh no, we made that bit up. It wasn’t really part of the Bible. It’s sort of like giving the game away boys. You would meet you mind I part of religion up so you might as well just come clean and say, well the whole of it had been made up.
If it was up to me, I would ban all religion. At least until the age of 18. And then. After indoctrination of logic and science, it would be up to you to decide. I would ban circumcision under religious grounds immediately. There’s no reason to abuse children in that manner. If you want to be circumcized later in life. So be it, that’s your choice. But to circumcise a baby. When there is no medical reason for it in my book, is abuse. And we should not tolerate it. I really don’t care what you mean. Sanctioned child abuse like that is just as bad as saying I take drugs cause it’s part of my religion or I rape young children because it’s part of my religion. No. Children should be protected. They are protected in law with exemptions for religious purposes, but why should they be exempt? What gives religious people anymore rights to abuse children? Than anyone else. What case religious people anymore rights to break the law than anyone else? The law is the law. There should be no exemptions. For religion, unless someone can come out and prove. The religion is true. And there’s evidence for it. You might as well just make an exemption for the author of Harry Potter. You really may as well. Say Harry Potter. Is exempt from all sorts of laws.

Aqua Optima Water Filter
I bought this a while ago from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082WV72G9/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_08C5747V9FF2C5QR6Y08 This is also available on other sites. I used to use a Britta filter, but was dissatisfied with the clarity of the filtered water. This one seems to produce much clearer water. Any comments are welcome. I hope this helps someone.
hello i’m unboxing an aqua optima jack water filter i’ve just bought from amazon let’s see what’s in the box reason i went for this one i’ve already got a brita filter but it doesn’t seem to be stopping any scaling in the kettle and the tassimo and things like that and this one was only 20 pound for six months of cleaning water so instead of just buying replacement filters i’m going for this give it a try like what’s in the box one lift

and this is always a good thing it’s like taking wrapping off the lampshade have you ever done that take that out
packing a third filter because these filters last two months

six little feet right let’s go wash all of this up
and have a quick read the instructions and see what gives
after washing all the components you need to open up one of the filters and soak it in a bowl of water for 10 to 15 minutes according to the instructions
after that time empty the bar and assemble your jug so we start off with the jug itself the filter goes into the base of the top water container the unfiltered container and it just pushes in and a slight turn to look it which is the simplest method i’ve seen in a water filler it’s easier than the brittle one because the brittle one you have to push down and it feels like you’re gonna break it every time then you simply put the lid on open the louvers
and fill the top with water you don’t take the lid off you just pour straight through the lures there’s a little sliding button that opens and closes the louvers on the handle after you’ve filled it with water you let it filter through
hello and thank you for watching this is an update to a video i made four months ago now regarding the aqua optima junk warp filter it’s had quite a few views but now i’ve been using it for four months i thought i’d update the video so the earlier bit of this video was filmed four months ago um it’s a lovely water filter it makes it i in my opinion it’s better than the brita the water comes out clearer it seems to taste a lot better as well there’s none of the i did a side by side comparison my old brita filter and this one in clean glasses and there were still particles in the water filter in a new brita filter i was getting particles in the water still this one comes out crystal clear it is so much better i’m not sure whether it actually cuts down on descaling i think it does because my kettle doesn’t seem to scale up as much as it used to and i think my tassimo even lasts a bit longer between these scales so very good on that front the reason i’m doing an update now is because i’ve come around to ordering replacement filters for it i’ll show you right this comes off
and then this comes out
and on the bottom you get the main filter which literally bayonets off and this is what they call the original filter it’s a small round thing however you replace it now with an evolve plus filter which looks different this is why i’m doing this video because it does look a lot different
i’ll show you there’s the original and there’s the evolve plus slightly different but the good thing is the evo plus fits in as well it just bang it in nice system
and while i’ve got it disassembled i discovered something else the other day i’ll put the filter back in bear with me

on the lid you’ve got louvers right these little things here now sometimes you get i don’t know you get filled up in there of something i don’t know i’ve had build up in it but you can unclip it simply by undoing it from one side over it takes a while for me to work out what side it was now they unclip there and you just unclip it out
of course it helps when you haven’t got nails
i mean it helps when you have got now so i am cut right now there we are he just done clips and you can wash all that separately and to put it back in quite simply a reverse of that so clip it in one side and it’s in quite frankly i still recommend the aqua optima jug water filter it is simple to use it’s clean the water tastes better and the water looks better so you have got my recommendation for the aqua optima water filter do
